Manuel Antonio National Park was established in 1972 with a land area of 983 ha - the smallest of any Costa Rican national park. It is the destination of 500,000 visitors annually and well known for its beautiful beaches and hiking trails. In 2011, Manuel Antonio was listed by Forbes among the world's 12 most beautiful national parks.
There is abundant wildlife in the park. One of the favourite animals to spot is the sloth. I did see a few but they were not too cooperative in providing me a good photo. The monkeys on the other hand were not afraid to get up close and personal. They were constantly trying to steal food from beach goers bags and backpacks.
I’m headed off to Uruguay now. Yes I know there are lots of activity options in Costa Rica and I know I just touched base on a few. If you’re looking for a break from the winter that will offer you many choices - check the list below and book your flight.
