Siem Reap

Siem Reap

is the capital city of Siem Reap Province in northwestern Cambodia. Over a million tourists a year pass through Siem Reap, making it the most popular tourist destination in all of Cambodia. Without a doubt the most mentioned place as a “Not To Miss” stop on a South East Asia itinerary is Siem Reap and the Angkor Wat Temples.

With a large number of hotels, resorts, restaurants and businesses closely related to tourism, this hyper active stop is a one you won’t forget - and not just for the incredible Angkgor Wat Temples. I’m sure a number of my subscribers reading this blog would have been to Siem Reap and visited the temples. To you, enjoy the photos and hopefully the good memories you have of your trip to Siem Reap. To those of you who have not yet made it - hopefully the photos will encourage you to put this amazing destination on your “Bucket List”. It is a worthy candidate.

Old Town Siem Reap

This is where all the night time action happens in Siem Reap. Fairly quiet during the daytime but busy and loud at night. Street food vendors, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and lots of hyper activity - it seems like everyone staying in Siem Reap makes their way down to Pub Street every night.

Midnight Snack

Getting hungry after all that partying - try snacking on a few scorpions, black widow spiders, tarantulas, worms or a tasty snake. All available on Pub Street.

Late Night

Want to wrap up a night of partying in Siem Reap’s Old Town, head to the street filled with Tuk/Tuk cocktail bars. They open at 10pm and close at 5am.

Old City Market

There is more to Old Town Siem Reap, you just have to check it out during the daytime. Just a few streets down from Pub Street you will find a quieter more subdued Old Town with an interesting central market and many nice restaurants.

Phare Cambodian Circus

Cambodia's answer to Cirque du Soleil (on a much smaller scale), is the Phare Cambodian Circus. Much more than a conventional circus, it has an emphasis on performance art and a subtle yet striking social message behind each production. Our production was a setting in a cabaret in the city. Very well done and amazing athleticism. A definite must see in Siem Reap.
