The Drake Passage's Revenge

For those following me, you will remember my anticipation of a wild ride across the Drake Passage to Antarctica.  Well this didn't actually happen.  I said I was a bit disappointed.  Maybe I should have held off on my comments, as the return trip across the Drake Passage met my expectations plus more.  We were actually in  winds so strong and swells so high that our passage was classified as a crossing in a Hurricane.  Welcome to the dreaded Drake Passage where the oceans meet and collide.

Fortunately we met the storm in the middle of the night when most pople were in bed.  Anything that was sitting on your table top went flying, that was for sure.  Although I didn't hear of anyone being tossed out of their beds, it might have been close for some. The early breakfast at the dinning room was pretty quiet, as most passengers were still trying to decide if it was safe to venture out.  The mannequins in the hallway didn't fare so well.

This is the view out of my rooms portal.  Waves were at the height of my window, I was on the fourth deck.

Well here is the proof, my own certificate.  The storm had winds of up to 80MPH and had waves the were up to 50ft high.
