Our campsite was very close to the Khwai River. Because of our location, the river became the focus of our game drives, morning and late afternoon. The Khwai River is an important part of the Okavango River Delta eco system and since it was the dry season, the river became a natural gathering place for pretty much all the animals. We were able to view many different species of animals and birds as they came to the waters edge to feed and drink water. Even the predator animals would wait patiently in the bushes by the river for an chance to strike and kill their prey.
